October 2013

Hi, it's been a while since i updated the blog so here's an update:

First of all, the last week of September, i took that week to try a lot of different new strategies i've came across all around the web, from blogs, plain strategies, dutching, laying the field, to "miraculous systems" that never fail, and so on, i also traded live and tried a few strategies of my own, despite a few of them i still want to give it another go but with some modifications, the overall result was pretty bad, nothing i wasn't expecting already but at least now i can be 100% sure those won't work in the long run, despite my small sample it was more than enough for me.
All these fun and games ended up costing me 279.39€, a good part of it being from in play trading.
Hope this scare anyone reading it from doing similar things.

With this black testing week behind the back i did wanted to go back to regular trading in October, but i felt i needed to punish myself somehow for just throwing money out the window, it would have been so much easier just to make a deposit(for those who don't follow the blog, i keep my bank divided between betfair and paypal) returning my bank to normal size but i did found a good punishment for me, not depositing and building my bank up again, when i first thought of this i remember thinking that i didn't wanted to go through it again and was about to reject the idea and just go ahead with the deposit, but after a bit more deliberation i came to the conclusion that if i didn't wanted to do it, that's exactly why i should do it... It's called a punishment for some reason right?

So i did started the month with a starting bank of exactly 7,88€

Things went reasonably well from the start, i did however started with 3/4€ stakes and then raised to 5€ when my bank grew a bit more, i still traded pretty much in the same way i traded the previous month, almost exclusively back/lay in the underdogs.

I was a bit bored the first few days but that was soon gone when the stakes and bank sizes came back to what i'm used to trade with.

All in all i did had a very good month, not free from mistakes of course, but i did had the feeling i was a bit more experienced and traded reasonably well, it will be hard to improve my results for next month but i will definetly try.(without forcing profits)

I also got to trade in person with a trader friend a few days, he didn't had much experience before, and it was mostly from football punting, i'm happy to see that despite he's still taking his first baby steps in the horse racing markets, he's now showing some signs of consistency in his results with small 2€ stakes, and consistency is what we all want right? The profit comes later....

So for November i'm planing on just trading normally without any kind of experiences or tests, since my work contract ended at the end of October and i will actually need the money from trading to help paying the bills, so there's no room for these kind of experiences in the next few months.

I will try to update the blog regularly from now on but i can't promise anything since when i'm about to post a new message i realise i don't have much to say other than show prints with the results...

See you soon.
